The Crudessence team is pleased to offer living foods in all of their natural splendor! Our approach involves much more than the raw diet, as it is also completely vegan (contains no animal products) and organic. Living foods, so rich in nutrients and enzymes, are now well-known for their ability to revitalize and alkalinize the body, making it healthier and more energetic.

Crudessence is highly sensitive to the impact that our dietary choices have on both the environment and our quality of life. A diet high in living foods is an environmental and economic commitment that leads to greater self expression, community involvement and global health.

We take such immense pleasure in offering a multitude of services that will allow you to fully nourish your body and mind while participating in this great food movement. We invite you to discover more of yourself through our restaurants, culinary academy and extended community of inspired individuals!

Changing the world one bite at a time… bon appétit!

Locations:

Mackay restaurant

2157 Mackay Street

Tel: 514.664.5188

The youngest in our Crudessence family, this location is an oasis of health and natural pleasures in the midst of the hustle and bustle of downtown. This restaurant, with a capacity of 50, also includes a boutique section and a bar offering a selection of organic wines and health drinks. Created largely of recycled wood and glass and lit exclusively by LED lighting, it is the most eco-friendly restaurant in town. Recycling artist Philippe Allard created three works of light for Crudessence: one based on electoral signs, the other on car headlights and, finally, one made out of printed circuit boards. His work is an ironic reflection of the challenges we encounter as we live in urban settings.

Rachel restaurant

105 Rachel Street West

Tel: 514.510.9299

With a seating capacity of 40 including its new terrace, this boutique restaurant was the first store for Crudessence and remains the meeting place of diehard health food enthusiasts. Located at the edge of the bike route on Rachel Street, at the foot of the Mount-Royal, the restaurant offers a menu similar to its younger downtown brother except for the wines and a few dishes.

Central Kitchen, Rise Kombucha Brewery and Offices

5445, de Gaspé Street, suite 906

Tel: 514-271-0333

This 6,000 square foot loft in the heart of Mile-End is the nerve centre of Crudessence, where we have our offices, our main kitchen and our “RISE” Kombucha brewery (risekombucha.com)

In addition to much manpower, a living food cuisine requires complex processes of transformation: soaking, germinating, dehydrating, and fermenting. The central kitchen receives fresh fruits and vegetables, unprocessed nuts and grains. Here, it is transformed and prepared for the restaurants and juice bars. This is also where dishes for the catering buffets and the ready-to-eat foods are prepared and where the boutique products are packaged. This facility also houses the Kombucha brewery, where we make our famous live fermented tea.
